I offered to produce a cultural item for our school cultural festivals in September 2010. I came out with the idea of Dragon Dance and was very happy that Helen Squires who is also very creative wanted to be part of it! Together, we put the item together. To make it more interesting, we had added kung fu and umbrella dance as well. We are very thankful to the talented children who wanted to be part of it!

They should enjoy coming to school, not dread it. When the faculty gets really involved with the students and the school in starting programs and festivals it gives them something to look forward too. I think that it is really neat that your school has cultural festivities and they sound really fun and educational! When the content the children are learning is fun, they actually want to learn it! ReplyDeleteI am encouraged by your involvement with your students. I think cultural festivities are a great way to get the kids involved and having fun. It also helps them to escape from their own reality and visualize how life would be in other regions. The Dragon Dance used in the school cultural festivals is a good way for students to be able to interact with the festivities of another culture that is different from theirs. This particular cultural festivity was full of fun and excitement and the children enjoyed it. Giving children the opportunities to interact with the world helps them to learn about diversity.
